There’s just something about spring that brings stories to life. The sun feels warmer, the flowers show off, and love seems to radiate through every soft breeze and golden hour glow. I recently had the honor of photographing two incredible couples—Cyrus & Chloe and Grace & Anthony—on back-to-back spring days, and it felt like living inside two fairytales. Their spring engagement photos in Ohio and Pennsylvania were filled with blooms, romance, and nods to their personal love stories. So I’m bundling both into one dreamy post. Let’s get entirely too excited together, shall we?
We kicked things off in the enchanting woods of Lanterman’s Mill in Youngstown, Ohio, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it felt like a fairytale. Chloe’s flowing green dress and Cyrus’s soft purple shirt gave the perfect whimsical folklore aesthetic—like a modern-day forest romance come to life. From stone steps and mossy trees to a soft twirl that made us all gasp, their love story practically danced through the woods.
When I first arrived, Cyrus and Chloe asked if I minded going a little deeper into the trail, past the usual bridge backdrop. As someone who lives for a good landscape moment, I was all in. What I did not even remotely anticipate were the gorgeous moss-covered stairs tucked away further in—they felt straight out of the Shire. Honestly, the landscape could not have tied in with their outfits more beautifully if we’d staged it.

✨ Cue me squealing at the glowy backlight, Chloe’s perfect twirly dress, and the way they looked at each other. Total magic. ✨
We wrapped up at Butler Art Museum and YSU campus, where their next chapter begins as soon-to-be graduates. The shift from forest whimsy to neoclassical arches brought a beautiful contrast—“from enchanted beginnings to a legacy built together.” When I asked what they loved most about The Butler, without hesitation, they said: the arches. And honestly? Same.
Chloe was absolutely glowing—full of giggles and totally down for every prompt I threw at her. It was infectious. And the way Cyrus looked at her? Y’all, I cannot even explain. You’ll just have to scroll down and see for yourself.
As golden hour closed in, we got a little more adventurous around campus. I was once a Penguin myself, and I still adore the older buildings tucked into the heart of YSU. So when I saw that dreamy architecture surrounded by spring blooms? Yeah—I ran us straight over there. 😂

The next day, I met up with Grace & Anthony for their engagement session at Buhl Park in Hermitage, PA, and it was straight out of a Nicholas Sparks novel. Their session had that soft, cinematic magic from the very first click—the kind of romance that feels timeless and a little bit movie-like. I had to mentally prep myself to not scream every time I looked at the back of my camera, but let’s be honest, you know I absolutely squealed in excitement 😂.

We leaned into all the Notebook vibes with dreamy walking shots, delicate touches, and even a few fun nods to Twilight (because why not mix in some slow-burn love story energy?). Grace’s first outfit was simple, sweet, and so flattering in the spring light—but her second outfit? Y’ALL. It was everything. She showed up with a patterned dress, the cutest picnic basket, and told me it was the same one from their proposal. I melted on the spot.

They spread out the blanket and just… existed together. In love, in sync, in their bubble. It felt like such an intimate window into their world—relaxed, joyful, and completely wrapped in each other. And that’s what made it so special.

One of my favorite moments was watching how Grace tucked into Anthony’s side, laughing at something only they heard. It was one of those blink and you miss it moments, but I swear the camera caught it. That’s the kind of magic spring sessions bring—the quiet, golden glances, the way light filters through the trees, and the realness of two people who just genuinely adore each other.
And the best part? Their wedding is in TWO WEEKS. I cannot wait to see their story continue—and to capture it all, start to finish.
Whether you’re planning your own Spring engagement in Ohio and Pennsylvania or just love a good romantic scroll, I hope these sessions bring a little sparkle to your day. 💫
Looking for a whimsical, story-driven engagement session with just the right amount of magic? I’d love to capture your love, your way.
