Winter engagement sessions always have a special kind of magic—snowy landscapes, intimate moments, and cozy vibes that make everything feel like a winter wonderland. I had the pleasure of capturing two amazing couples this season, and the result was nothing short of breathtaking.

Katie & Hunter: Snow, Stairs, and Sweet Moments

We kicked off Katie and Hunter’s engagement session at Casa di Canzonetta (formerly known as the old Bistro 1907). There’s something so intimate and cozy about taking photos inside bars and restaurants. It feels like you’re stepping into their date, capturing the love and connection between them. And, of course, Ohio decided to bless us with snow that weekend—but with the snow came THE COLD!

We didn’t let the cold stop us, though! We spent some time indoors at the hotel upstairs, and as always, I made good use of the staircase (my absolute favorite!) to add depth and elegance to the photos. We even had an intimate elevator moment—how cute is that?

Then we braved the chilly air and headed to Mill Creek Park, one of my all-time favorite spots in Youngstown. This location has everything—a beautiful, historic mill, snow-covered trees, and a perfect winter vibe. We cannot forget about how great Mister Glizzy (their adorable Weiner dog) looked in his bow tie and top hat—he definitely stole the show! The entire day was pure magic.

Sam & Joe: 15 Degrees of Pure Magic

Now, let’s talk about Sam & Joe. If you thought Katie and Hunter braved the cold, Sam and Joe took it to another level! We braved 15-degree weather with sweater dresses, gorgeous trench coats, and plenty of love to keep us warm. When I do engagement sessions, I like to keep it natural—posing a little, but then letting the couple have fun and interact. That’s when the true magic happens!

Joe was a champ and didn’t hesitate at any of the prompts I gave him—from twirling Sam around to sweeping her off her feet like a true Cinderella moment. These two gave me all the fairy tale vibes! We started the session at the The Butler a beautiful, hidden gem in the area, and then headed to Lanterman’s Mill for some winter wonderland magic.

The cold? Yes, it was biting, but Sam and Joe shared the sweetest moments walking hand in hand through the trees, dancing on the platform, and simply being in each other’s orbit. We’d sneak back into the car to warm up, but the love between these two kept us going through it all.

Looking Ahead to Their Weddings

I’m beyond excited to be capturing both Katie & Hunter’s and Sam & Joe’s weddings this year—and with much warmer weather, thank goodness! These two couples are so special to me, and I can’t wait to be part of their big day. Stay tuned for more sneak peeks, and in the meantime, enjoy a little winter love from these two incredible engagement sessions.
